There is no story more tragic than one never told

Armant Jidoix,
a humble bard

Quick reference

Name: Armant Jidoix
Age: Late 20's (exact unknown)
Race: Duskwight
Occupation: Bard
Orientation: Bisexual, male leaning
Outward Demeanor: Jovial, sarcastic, and kind

Personality

Gregarious, warm, and welcoming- Armant is the sort to go out of his way to bestow kindness on others, to the point he comes off a bit strong at times. He's a dramatic, larger than life kind of man who seems to love the sound of his own voice. Yet he seldom speaks of himself, preferring to learn the stories of others. Armant's slow to truly open up and show what's behind that polite, prim and proper demeanor, hypocritically preferring to keep to himself.

Backstory

Armant was raised within an isolated settlement deep beneath the forests of the Shroud in the ruins of Gelmorra, the tale for why he left a mystery to most. The past few turns he has been roaming the star at large as a traveling bard, his amicable ways having made it easier for him to gain allies over time. Gathering stories of others and turning them into songs has been both his livelihood and passion.

Hooks

A Bard's Muse
A collector of stories, Armant loves to hear the stories of others. It's often how he draws inspiration for new songs. He'll occasionally take on song commissions.
High Society Connections
Armant carries himself with a grace and poise befitting of blending in easily with those of a higher status, and new friendships and acquaintances are something he goes out of his way to pursue.
Underworld Connections
Oftentimes he grows his network of unsavory individuals, caring little for which side of the law his connections partake in. He's also a skilled botanist, and occasionally supplies to clients discreetly.

Out of character
information

Thanks for taking the time to read through this far! If you're interested in playing with Armant, please know that I have a preference for dark and long term plots. I'm open to walk up RP, though do feel free to approach OOC to work out plotlines and brainstorm as well.If you're interested in any romance plots, Armant is technically bisexual, though I will request any erotic scenes with female characters fade to black. I welcome playing these scenes out with male characters. I do love my twisted romances and manipulation-centered plots, but I care most about letting the story play out naturally. Build-up is highly preferred.

songs, the product of a bard's muse

Each of these songs are sold on separate 'cards' composed of an illustration on the face of the card and the lyrics written inside. They are thick card stock, comprised of thin sheets of paper with aetherical ink layered atop each other to create the enchantments that have songs play when they're open and are held together by an enchanted glue. The writing on the inside is a fanciful script with an excessive number of unnecessary loops, handwritten by Armant himself with an obvious flair.

House Lavendal

"House Lavendal, oh so grand,
Lost to darkness, in this land.
But now they rise, from the ashes,
Bringing back, Gelmorran glory that passes.
Triumph through strife, their battle cry,
Bringing dark to the lightest sky.
Their ways won't die, for they stand tall,
House Lavendal, their name will call.
Through trials and tears, they stood strong,
Their hearts aflame, never gone.
And now they shine, with new found power,
Their will and might, never to cower.
Triumph through strife, their battle cry,
Bringing dark to the lightest sky.
Their ways won't die, for they stand tall,
House Lavendal, their name will call.
So raise your voice, and sing their praise,
For House Lavendal, in these days.
Let their spirit, live on forever,
Their legacy, we'll always treasure.
Triumph through strife, their battle cry,
Bringing dark to the lightest sky.
Their ways won't die, for they stand tall,
House Lavendal, their name will call."

The spark

"In a world of shadows and despair
Where hope had long been rare
A sorceress emerged with a mission
To revive the ancient magic and tradition
She sang a song of power and might
To awaken the spirits and ignite
The flame of hope in her people's hearts
And lead them towards a renewed start
The sorceress delved deep into the past
To find the knowledge that would last
She learned the secrets of the old ways
And vowed to bring them back to greater days
She sang a song of power and might
To awaken the spirits and ignite
The flame of hope in her people's hearts
And lead them towards a renewed start
With every word, her magic grew strong
And her people's spirits soared along
The weakness faded, and the power shone bright
As the sorceress took back their rightful might"

Unyielding

"In a land of magic and might
A knight roams with his sword so bright
With every strike, he stands tall
And he'll never falter, no, not at all
Oh, this knight is unyielding and strong
His spirit will never be broken or wrong
He'll do what he must for the greatest good
And in the end, he'll rise as he should
His armor may be battered and worn
But his spirit remains as fierce as a storm
For he fights not for glory or fame
But for the people, he'll always claim
Oh, this knight is unyielding and strong
His spirit will never be broken or wrong
He'll do what he must for the greatest good
And in the end, he'll rise as he should
He'll march through the darkest night
And face every challenge with all his might
For he knows that the fight is never done
Until the victory is finally won
Oh, this knight is unyielding and strong
His spirit will never be broken or wrong
He'll do what he must for the greatest good
And in the end, he'll rise as he should"

The Deal

"There's a man I know, he's a friend to all
Deals in fair trades, never cheats and stands tall
His love for his people, it's beyond compare
He'd give anything, just to show he cares
He's a man of his word, a man of demands
His heart beats for his people, he'll always lend a hand
Though his brutish ways may deceive
His heart encased in frigid gold, I believe
He walks with a purpose, never losing his way
His eyes see the world, in a different way
He's a man of few words, but when he speaks
You can feel the wisdom, his soul leaks
He's a man of his word, a man of demands
His heart beats for his people, he'll always lend a hand
Though his brutish ways may deceive
His heart encased in frigid gold, I believe
Some say he's magic, some say he's divine
But we know he's just a man, with a heart that shines
He'll trade in darkness, if it means his people thrive
He'll never back down, as long as he's alive
He's a man of his word, a man of demands
His heart beats for his people, he'll always lend a hand
Though his brutish ways may deceive
His heart encased in frigid gold, I believe"

"In the depths of the star, where shadows dance
A duskwight wandered, trapped in a trance
Through winding caverns, he lost his way
In the labyrinth of darkness, where light held no sway
With every step, his heart grew weary
The weight of despair, heavy and dreary
Yet, a flicker of hope burned deep within
A spark of resilience, refusing to dim
The labyrinth whispered secrets of old
Guiding the lost duskwight, fierce and bold
He followed the echoes, their subtle cues
Through the darkness, his soul would not lose
With each twist and turn, he carried on
Through cavernous chambers, cold as the dawn
He wove tales of heroes, triumphant and brave
As a beacon of hope, his spirit did pave
Through ages-old tunnels, his footsteps resound,
The dark elf's resolve, forever unbound.
For though he was lost, a wanderer astray,
His unwavering hope would light his way.
And lo, as he sang, a distant glimmer he spied,
A gentle glow, like a star that had died.
He quickened his pace, drawn to its allure,
For he knew this light would offer a cure.
Through the labyrinth's heart, he raced with glee,
Until finally, he reached what was meant to be.
An underground oasis, a realm bathed in light,
Where hope reigned supreme, dispelling the night.
The dark elf rejoiced, his spirit renewed,
In the underground haven, where dreams pursued.
For even in darkness, hope still survives,
And through his song, he found his prize.
So let this ballad remind us all,
That in the depths of despair, when shadows fall,
If we hold onto hope, and sing with might,
We'll find our way back to the realms of light."
